2023 Futsal Registration for children in grades 5th-9th opens at 5pm on Thursday, November 9th and will run through November 26th.

Futsal this season will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting Nov. 28 to Dec. 21.  

5th/6th grade will play from 530p-630p and 7th/8th/9th grade will play from 630p-730p. 

All games will be played at the Athens Community Center gymnasium.  

Paul Isherwood has agreed to manage/run this program this season.  He has coached soccer for my programs for many seasons.  He will be a tremendous asset to this program.  

Space is limited this season to 18 kids per age group.  

Once registered children will just need to plan to be at the Athens Community Center during your time on the first day of play (November 28).

What is Futsal?: Futsal is FIFA's official indoor soccer game. It is small sided (5 vs. 5), played on a smaller pitch (roughly basketball court sized) and with a smaller ball. The game is played on a flat indoor pitch with 2m height x 3m width (6.5'x10') goals and a size 4 ball with reduced bounce. The Game favors ball control and quick decision making. Futsal is normally played on an indoor court with a smaller, low-bounce ball. Unlimited substitutions are allowed, as players consistently are running on and off the court.
